My Favorite Place

Yesterday, Ron and I were able to get to my favorite place Alamitos Bay in Long Beach, CA.  I first discovered this place when I was looking for a reception site for our wedding over four years ago.  I have lived in So Cal all my life and never heard of this bay. After I first went there and saw the beauty and calm environment I was like, "This is the place for our reception!"  Ron and I were so excited!

Some months later, we had our wonderful reception there.  This must be one of  the best keep secrets in all of So Cal.  It is so quiet, has a beautiful bay, ocean views and the best sunsets.  AW WWW!

So, yesterday Ron and I really enjoyed the calm and peaceful afternoon.  Plus we sat for a while in front of the wedding day restaurant  and reflected over that fabulous day. What a day that was!

There are a few restaurants and shops around but it is never too crowded or busy. I usually just park my car right in front and kick back and exhale!  Of course, the weekends are little busier but the walk ways are open to casually stroll with your honey or alone.

Enjoy the pictures!

  5. Such beautiful photos ... it brought me right back to my time spent in Long Beach, California. I lived there for 11 years when I was much younger ... 1969 - 1980, and I sure do miss the area. Thanks for sharing!

Vintage Love is Here

I love making greeting cards for Valentine's Day. When my husband and I were dating, he started a tradition of giving each other cards for special occasions. I hadn't been a big card person then but after he started giving me so many great cards, I loved it. I loved giving as much as receiving them. Valentine's Day was one of the best times to get a wonderful card from him. So you can say, he is one of the reasons I got into card making. I loved that feeling of receiving a card from someone I loved and loved me. So with that in mind, we are happy to introduce our "Vintage Love" Collection . I enjoyed creating a daytime and night time versions of these cards. I love the variety that came from my limited supplies. If you need a special card for your loved ones, they will be available in our Etsy store (  www.kellyron.etsy.com   ) for $5.00 each plus shipping and handling . Also, if you would like us to type your expressions on the inside of the card or a organ...

Live Forward

Happy October to all! I am getting ready for the holidays already and hope to have some Christmas cards to share soon. While I am in card mode and am still enjoying creating faces and painting. Here is one of the last ones I did called, "Live Forward." Just a reminded to keeping looking ahead in life. Driving like life is supposed to be done by looking through the windshield not the rear view window. (Oh, that is a good one. LOL!) Also, I loved using strips of patterned paper in the background. Then painted over them with layers of colors and then added stamps and that face. Isn't she pretty? I am so proud I am learning to draw profiles. They have been hard to do but I am starting to get it. Take a look! Thanks for looking and hope you have a terrific day!

Our Romantic Anniversary Dinner

Happy Thursday! I hope your week has been great.  Today I wanted  to share some of our wedding anniversary pictures with you.  Last Sunday, my hubby arranged for us to have a romantic dinner at the very place where we had our wedding reception.  I was so excited when I found out that they set up a table for us to have the whole banquet room to ourselves.  How great was that??? The restaurant is right on the bay and has the most spectacular  views.  So when we arrived they had a table set up for us right by the windows so we could get an even better view.  They had the rest of the room set up for an event but I still could remember how it looked the night of our wedding with the lights and the dance floor.  Plus the left side of the room is nothing but windows so you can see more of this secluded bay. So as we dined we watched the sunset and it was so fabulous.  Even at night all the lights from the surroundin...
