Be Kelly, Be

I am so excited to share this layout with you all. I rarely do them because I don't have that many pictures I want to scrap. But this picture was so special I had to spotlight it. Over at  Scrapping the Moments, Jess has an August challenge to create a layout using the word "Be" in your title. This word means something to me because I am trying to encourage myself to just BE. Be in the moment and experience the moment. So many times I am in the past or the future stressing about stuff. Then I catch myself and have to say "Be Kelly, Be."

On this day I went to church with my hubby for the first time in a long while. This church that we went to is so cool. You can hear the service outside and inside. So I chose to enjoy the experience outside on their beautiful park-like setting. I actually laid on my red blanket during some of the service and just let myself "Be." Awwwww, it was so peaceful and calm. I experienced church in a new way and I loved it. If you are in the So Cal area and have never been to Saddleback Church, it is worth the visit. Amazing place!

The layout was so fun once I got this Cosmo Cricket patterned paper. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to use it. Then today, I wanted to cut some of the flowers out to embellish. I added brown distressing ink to the edges and little pearls as the center. So my fun making these flowers. My layout was almost done and I still didn't know what to do with that black scallopped strip. But after I looked at this sketch at My Mind's Eye Blog I decided to lay it horizonal. Perfect fit.

I used:
  • Red Card stock
  • Cosmo Cricket (Ginger) patterned paper
  • Recollections green leaves
  • Zva black bling swirls
  • Green glitter letters BE
  • Clear transparency frame from Creative Imaginations
  • Cosmo Cricket scalloped strip with pearls and journal tag
  • Pop dot adhesive on the flowers
Here are a few of the pictures.

Thanks for looking! Have a beautiful day and just "BE."

Vintage Love is Here

I love making greeting cards for Valentine's Day. When my husband and I were dating, he started a tradition of giving each other cards for special occasions. I hadn't been a big card person then but after he started giving me so many great cards, I loved it. I loved giving as much as receiving them. Valentine's Day was one of the best times to get a wonderful card from him. So you can say, he is one of the reasons I got into card making. I loved that feeling of receiving a card from someone I loved and loved me. So with that in mind, we are happy to introduce our "Vintage Love" Collection . I enjoyed creating a daytime and night time versions of these cards. I love the variety that came from my limited supplies. If you need a special card for your loved ones, they will be available in our Etsy store (  www.kellyron.etsy.com   ) for $5.00 each plus shipping and handling . Also, if you would like us to type your expressions on the inside of the card or a organ...

Live Forward

Happy October to all! I am getting ready for the holidays already and hope to have some Christmas cards to share soon. While I am in card mode and am still enjoying creating faces and painting. Here is one of the last ones I did called, "Live Forward." Just a reminded to keeping looking ahead in life. Driving like life is supposed to be done by looking through the windshield not the rear view window. (Oh, that is a good one. LOL!) Also, I loved using strips of patterned paper in the background. Then painted over them with layers of colors and then added stamps and that face. Isn't she pretty? I am so proud I am learning to draw profiles. They have been hard to do but I am starting to get it. Take a look! Thanks for looking and hope you have a terrific day!

Our Romantic Anniversary Dinner

Happy Thursday! I hope your week has been great.  Today I wanted  to share some of our wedding anniversary pictures with you.  Last Sunday, my hubby arranged for us to have a romantic dinner at the very place where we had our wedding reception.  I was so excited when I found out that they set up a table for us to have the whole banquet room to ourselves.  How great was that??? The restaurant is right on the bay and has the most spectacular  views.  So when we arrived they had a table set up for us right by the windows so we could get an even better view.  They had the rest of the room set up for an event but I still could remember how it looked the night of our wedding with the lights and the dance floor.  Plus the left side of the room is nothing but windows so you can see more of this secluded bay. So as we dined we watched the sunset and it was so fabulous.  Even at night all the lights from the surroundin...
