Looking Back- K. Simone Designs

Happy Summer! I hope you are enjoying yourselves so far. I know many of you have heard of #throwbackthursday on social media. So this  #throwbacksunday. LOL!

Last May, we reactivated our K. Simone Designs greeting card business.  Since then, we have been planning and working on some new goals. Doing all this has taken me back down memory. Boy, I have made SO many cards and we were fortunate to have some great experiences, too.

Today, I will be sharing one of my favorite experiences from 2011, our first year in business. Some of you may remember I blogged about our first opportunity to sell our cards at actress Tori Spelling's former store, Inventori. That was such an amazing time and gave us great excitement and joy.

Then, later that year,  I was able to met Tori at a store event. She was so lovely and encouraging.

    I remember this as though it was yesterday! It was a very exciting time for you and Ron! I thought how awesome to create such beautiful cards that someone would sell them in there shop let alone in Ca. Was that really five years ago Kelly? Time flies doesn't it. I am trying to think back to how long I have been scrapping and how long we have been friends. No matter I love your creativity and the energy you have for all the different aspects of it for example how you taught yourself to draw. I hope you continue to let your creativity grow. You are so AWESOME!!!

      Thanks so much Cindy! Like I told Nylene, I am so glad I met you gals. All the encouragement and support you still give me is wonderful. I was trying to figure out how long we have been friends. Maybe since 2010? Have to think about that. But thanks again!

    Was that clear back in 2011? I think about it often. I am so glad you are reactivating your card business. More people need to be blessed by receiving one of your beautiful cards! I loved reliving this memory with you.

Kelly & Ron Roberts Today, Ron and I are announcing the relaunch of our K. Simone Designs business. For those of you that are new to our work and site, click   ABOUT US   for more information.   In short, we started our business selling my handmade greeting cards in 2011. We sold and donated lots of cards and enjoyed bringing smiles to our customer's faces. In 2019, we took a long break. Since then, art has become my main interest and I have been drawing, painting and improving my skills. Art has been a wonderful outlet and joy for me and I have loved encouraging others with these creations.  So now K. Simone Designs will focus on our Inspired Art business. Our greeting cards are on hold for now but they are still apart of our brand. Also, I will continue to create YouTube papercrafting videos and add more resources to my arts and crafts directory. My Birthday Blog Party

Welcome to my Birthday Blog Party! I am starting my celebration early to fully enjoy my day. My actual birthday is May 29th but why not start early right? :) When I think of birthdays past, they were always such exciting times for me. Many of my birthdays were celebrated with fun parties from my childhood to my young adult years. I loved all of those special parties and to this day, I still love it. Maybe this is where my love for event planning all started. At my 3rd birthday, my parents gave me a big one. I don't really remember but the pictures are so cool. I had lots of kids there, a clown, a little merry-go-round ride and lots of games. I had a white little outfit on and was looking so cute for a Spring party. Boy, I looked so happy! Also, I was brave not to be afraid of the clown, too. My mom was holding me as I blew the candles out. Another year, I had my first slumber party. That was so fun! I invited several friends and ...

Happy Hearts

Today I will be sharing one a several painting I recently finished. This one is one of my favorites. I wanted to try two faces and just love how they turned out. It was fun going crazy with the multi-colored background. The hearts were made using my new favorite thing to make from toilet paper rolls- STAMPS.  I saw them on Julie Balzer's blog. Toilet Paper Tube Stamps  Then I used my fingers to paint the inside of the hearts. So neat! Take a look and I hope you feel the love and joy in this piece. Aren't the afro's fabulous!!! LOL! They were my first try and look pretty darn good. The little girls afro puff is so cute and reminds me of the ones I had as a child.   I love the hearts on their clothes. I used my stencil to make the design then painted around just to show the insides. Hope you enjoyed and come back this week to see some other paintings. Have a good one!
