Is It Ok To Smile? Scrapbook Layout Thoughts

This year, I have had so much fun creating scrapbook pages. I haven't made this many layouts in like forever!!! LOL! They have become more like journal pages in 12 x 12 size. Most of the time, I tell the technical details behind my pages. But today, I will be sharing the story behind the title "Imagine That."

This page was so fun to create and really captured the spirit of my picture. The day I took that picture was a good day. I felt so happy and joyful. Then, I thought how am I this happy in the middle of this global pandemic, social injustice, hurricanes and political unrest? Is it ok to take a break from the stress of our world?

Well, this day I said, "HECK YEAH!" 2020 has been a devastating year full of so much fear and instability. Most of us have been at home more than ever and wearing our sweats and t-shirts. It has been a time of embracing anything that feels comforting and cozy.

But this day, I put on a new dress, makeup and a smile. I needed to take charge of my mood and day. Yes, I have cried, expressed frustration and anger, and felt fear. But I realized I need balance. So, I gave myself permission to play, rest, relax and just laugh and giggle.

So this scrapbook page is all about permission to play, even during a global crisis! In fact, during these challenging times, I plan to play more. It is not only fun for me but good medicine.

My encouragement to everyone is to put on your joy and wear it even when you feel down. Sometimes we have to wear a smile to change our mood. Maybe for you it isn't a visible smile but just projecting a positive outlook.

Vintage Love is Here

I love making greeting cards for Valentine's Day. When my husband and I were dating, he started a tradition of giving each other cards for special occasions. I hadn't been a big card person then but after he started giving me so many great cards, I loved it. I loved giving as much as receiving them. Valentine's Day was one of the best times to get a wonderful card from him. So you can say, he is one of the reasons I got into card making. Live Forward

Happy October to all! I am getting ready for the holidays already and hope to have some Christmas cards to share soon. While I am in card mode and am still enjoying creating faces and painting. Here is one of the last ones I did called, "Live Forward." Just a reminded to keeping looking ahead in life. Driving like life is supposed to be done by looking through the windshield not the rear view window. (Oh, that is a good one. LOL!) Also, I loved using strips of patterned paper in the background. Then painted over them with layers of colors and then added stamps and that face. Isn't she pretty? I am so proud I am learning to draw profiles. Our Romantic Anniversary Dinner

Happy Thursday! I hope your week has been great. Today I wanted to share some of our wedding anniversary pictures with you. Last Sunday, my hubby arranged for us to have a romantic dinner at the very place where we had our wedding reception. I was so excited when I found out that they set up a table for us to have the whole banquet room to ourselves. How great was that??? The restaurant is right on the bay and has the most spectacular views. So when we arrived they had a table set up for us right by the windows so we could get an even better view. They had the rest of the room set up for an event but I still could remember how it looked the night of our wedding with the lights and the dance floor.
