Fall Card

Over the last month or so I made these Fall colored cards.  I have left most of them untitled so when I need to used one I will figure it out then.  So these are in my stash.  Plus adding a sentiment/title to my cards is the hardest part. I need more options of images to use.  Sometimes I will stamp the sentiment on the card and other times I want to put it on a cute tag or label.  That is when I get stuck trying to figure it out.  GHEEZ! Maybe if my husband is reading this post, he will get me a Spellbinder machine for Christmas so I can make my own variety of tags, labels and etc. Hint Hint! On most of the cards, I used My Mind's Eye patterned paper, Prima flowers/leaves, Maya Road trimming ribbon.  On the last one, I used Teresa Collins paper and Prima butterfly. So pretty! Enjoy!

Thinking of You Cards

Here are some cards I was excited to create with my new My Mind's Eye patterned paper. Their new Lost and Found collection is so glittery and pretty. Love it!  I also inked the edges with brown stamp pad. This gives it a nice old look. Mad Men Tribute

Yes, this season I got hooked on that tv show MAD MEN . Tonight was the season finale and I will miss the show until it returns.  This 1960's story follows the life of Don Draper, the lead character, and his advertising firm. He is one of several partners that is trying to make a successful business in the tough world of advertising.  There lives are so connected personally and professionally but also they lead rather secret lives outside of the office.  I really enjoyed some of the episodes that showed how the firm goes about business.  The sales pitches, brainstorming,  and the overall creative process.  Also, I like how we could see how different it was for women in the workplace. Sexism was alive and well but these women found their way in spite of it all. Don is my favorite character because his life is so complicated and interesting.  I found myself pulling for him week after week. Even talking out loud to the tv when he made stupid...

Smile Card

This is a card I started working on during World Card Making Day.  With the weather being so rainy and gloomy the last few days, this card makes me feel so cheerful and bright. "Rain, rain go away, come back another day..." I enjoyed using some old and new items together.  I used Bazzill cardstock, Prima patterned paper and inked the edges with green, Three Birds "smile" & flower bling, hot pink ribbon and border sticker.  I have had those border strips for a while and was happy to use them.  Then I used foam adhesive to give the middle section some height. Happy Wednesday!

World Card Making Day

Recently, I found out about World Card Making Day on  Paper Craft Magazine . This event is to kick off card making season for the upcoming holidays.  So in celebration, I worked on several cards. One of them was a birthday card for award winning singer Ms. India Arie.  She is one of my favorite artist.  She celebrated her birthday yesterday and I was happy to be able to send her this beautiful gift.  India is such a  giving artist and I hope to inspire her the way her music inspires me.  If you go to my music page the first song is hers. If you haven't heard her music before, check it out sometime. Fantastic! I enjoyed making this card. For a while now I have dreamed of using peacock feathers and this seemed to be the perfect card to start with. Love these feathers! They are so vibrant and beautiful. Then I enjoyed using my new Webster's Pages and Prima flowers.  Those gold glitter images were fun, too. These colors and elements...
