Over at Scrapping the Moments, we are looking to add two new members to the design team. Here are all the details from our leader Pat Bishop. "I am having an open call for 2 people to join our DT @ Scrapping the Moments. We are a small, friendly,  scrap booking/paper crafting community. I am looking for someone to head up the weekly photography challenge. You do not need to be a professional photographer to do this. But I would like someone who is excited about taking photos & know their way around their camera. You would have to come up with a weekly idea of what we should photograph. I love making greeting cards for Valentine's Day. When my husband and I were dating, he started a tradition of giving each other cards for special occasions. I hadn't been a big card person then but after he started giving me so many great cards, I loved it. I loved giving as much as receiving them. Valentine's Day was one of the best times to get a wonderful card from him. So you can say, he is one of the reasons I got into card making. I loved that feeling of receiving a card from someone I loved and loved me. So with that in mind, we are happy to introduce our "Vintage Love" Collection . Coloring books... I love them. A few years ago before my artistic discovery, my husband bought me some coloring books with paints. I had been feeling like I wanted to color and paint out of the blue. I hadn't painted probably since elementary school. So I jumped in and started coloring with crayons, then colored pencils and finally paints. I was so surprised how much I enjoyed this. It was so relaxing and expressive. I recently got back into the mood and started coloring again. It seems to help me in between card making projects. The colors fill up my creative tank so I have more to give to other artsy passions. Here is a page I did that I just love! I love butterflies and color so this was a perfect combo for me. I added some inspirational words for me and that was it. I have this posted so everyday I can be reminded of my beauty, worth and purpose. Creatively, 2011 was a fantastic year for me and looking forward to more fun, exciting projects and opportunities this year. Ok, here is the new January card challenge for Scrapping the Moments. I thought after all the busy holidays we could do an easy challenge. I am sure you all have scraps leftover from all the beautiful layouts and cards you made. So the challenge is to use your scraps to make a card. Directions: Use any shape or size scraps of leftover paper on a card. Make it as simple or fancy as you want. Here is what I did. I cut several strips of paper and adhered them to the card. That was it. Check it out! Used white and pink cs, Echo Paper patterned paper, and the flower is from American Girl Crafts. One day while deep in holiday card making I got an inspiration. I wanted to try some red envelopes and make some card that can hold gift cards, notes and even pictures. After playing around with some ideas this is what I came up with. To see how to create these see my old post. Happy Sunday! Hope all is well for you and your family. Recently, I was asked to make a bridal shower card. Yippee! I love weddings and creating for that special time of life. Plus, it was a nice break from all the Christmas cards I have been working on. :) I loved using this special pearlized paper I got earlier this year. Then, I placed it on a cream colored pearlized card stock. Also, used the pretty vellum paper on the outside and inside. I wish you could see how beautiful that floral vellum is. The ribbon was so pretty with this. It was the icing on the cake. Love how it all turned out. So, take a look! Love adding the floral vellum layer with the cream paper. The pic was better. Then, I added this extra card for the customer. I had started working on this card months ago and never put a sentiment on it. Just didn't know what to do. Happy December everyone! Can't believe it is almost Christmas. Amazing! Well, the beginning of the month brings my new card challenge over at Scrapping the Moments. This month's challenge is a special project I especially love doing for Christmas. I call it a "Mini Album Card." I love mini albums and decided to use my card "vision" to do something with my supplies. The challenge is to create one with your own theme, colors and designs. This is a fun little project you can make with your kids or a friend. Once it is personalized this is a terrific gift that someone would cherish! Ok, here is how I did mine. I used 1-12x12 cardstock, cut in half into 2-6x6 pieces. Then I folded each to make 2 cards. I decorated all the surfaces with patterned paper.  I love creating the pockets with the tags and the blank red squares for pics.
