K. Simone Designs Turns 10!!! April 20, 2011, my husband Ron and I launched our greeting card business. Since we started, we have sold over 300 cards and donated over 80 cards to charitable events. After years of selling our cards, we have also added my art to our collection. This is an exciting newer venture that we are thrilled about, too. K. Simone Designs Art Shop HERE

Ron and I created this fun YouTube video to share some of our favorite cards, art and memorable stories from over the years. It was a joy reflecting on all the exciting moments and precious people who helped us.

In the video, I told about Gospel Music Artist Vickie Winans and how she encouraged us so much. Well, here is the blog post I wrote about the special mini album card I made for her in 2012. The thank you video she made has been lost but the sentiment of the moment is still special. Her Story HERE

2013, These cards were donated to Essence Magazine's "Black Women in Hollywood" award luncheon.

I made a batch of this card for Actress Tori Spellings' former shop, Inventori.

Oh, I love her.

We could not have lasted 10 years without the support of many others. Thank God for all these special people, So grateful!

Vintage Love is Here

I love making greeting cards for Valentine's Day. When my husband and I were dating, he started a tradition of giving each other cards for special occasions. I hadn't been a big card person then but after he started giving me so many great cards, I loved it. I loved giving as much as receiving them. Valentine's Day was one of the best times to get a wonderful card from him. So you can say, he is one of the reasons I got into card making. I loved that feeling of receiving a card from someone I loved and loved me. So with that in mind, we are happy to introduce our "Vintage Love" Collection . Live Forward

Happy October to all! I am getting ready for the holidays already and hope to have some Christmas cards to share soon. While I am in card mode and am still enjoying creating faces and painting. Here is one of the last ones I did called, "Live Forward." Just a reminded to keeping looking ahead in life. Driving like life is supposed to be done by looking through the windshield not the rear view window. (Oh, that is a good one. LOL!) Also, I loved using strips of patterned paper in the background. Then painted over them with layers of colors and then added stamps and that face. Isn't she pretty? I am so proud I am learning to draw profiles. Our Romantic Anniversary Dinner

Happy Thursday! I hope your week has been great. Today I wanted to share some of our wedding anniversary pictures with you. Last Sunday, my hubby arranged for us to have a romantic dinner at the very place where we had our wedding reception. I was so excited when I found out that they set up a table for us to have the whole banquet room to ourselves. How great was that??? The restaurant is right on the bay and has the most spectacular views. So when we arrived they had a table set up for us right by the windows so we could get an even better view. They had the rest of the room set up for an event but I still could remember how it looked the night of our wedding with the lights and the dance floor. Plus the left side of the room is nothing but windows so you can see more of this secluded bay. So as we dined we watched the sunset and it was so fabulous.
