2010 Christmas Cards

I am so pleased with how these Christmas cards turned out. I was struggling some weeks ago trying to decide on a color scheme and theme. But this year, ended up being a mixture of colors and styles. I like that they aren't so uniformed like past years.  They all had their own look and feel.

I used My Mind's Eye patterned paper, Prima flowers, Maya Road envelop, K & Co. rub-ons and stickers and lots of leaves and berries from Michael's.  I love all those little sprigs of glittery leaves and branches Michael's has. I just cut small pieces off and there you have it.  Great for the holidays!

So here are some of the cards.







I got the star ornament from Walgreens.  So the person can remove it from the card and hang the star on their tree. COOL!



Here are a few of the mini album cards I made. My minis are  two cards stapled together which is fun because I have more surfaces to decorate, front and back.  Also, I still need to fill these with pictures and written expressions. I will post when I finish those. Stay tuned!

Since then, art has become my main interest and I have been drawing, painting and improving my skills. My Birthday Blog Party

Welcome to my Birthday Blog Party! I am starting my celebration early to fully enjoy my day. My actual birthday is May 29th but why not start early right? :) When I think of birthdays past, they were always such exciting times for me. Many of my birthdays were celebrated with fun parties from my childhood to my young adult years. I loved all of those special parties and to this day, I still love it. Maybe this is where my love for event planning all started. At my 3rd birthday, my parents gave me a big one. I don't really remember but the pictures are so cool. I had lots of kids there, a clown, a little merry-go-round ride and lots of games. I had a white little outfit on and was looking so cute for a Spring party. Boy, I looked so happy! Happy Hearts

Today I will be sharing one a several painting I recently finished. This one is one of my favorites. I wanted to try two faces and just love how they turned out. It was fun going crazy with the multi-colored background. The hearts were made using my new favorite thing to make from toilet paper rolls- STAMPS.  I saw them on Julie Balzer's blog. Toilet Paper Tube Stamps  Then I used my fingers to paint the inside of the hearts. So neat! Take a look and I hope you feel the love and joy in this piece. Aren't the afro's fabulous!!! LOL! They were my first try and look pretty darn good. The little girls afro puff is so cute and reminds me of the ones I had as a child.   I love the hearts on their clothes.
