Valentines In Review

Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day! I just love creating cards for this lovey dovey holiday. In this post I will share some of the other cards I made and a special surprise.  OK, first the surprise! We had some extra cards and sent them to our local sports radio station. I am a regular listener to 710 am ESPN radio. Love it! So my hubby and I thought it would be a fun idea to send some cards to the various hosts. We were hoping they would enjoy personally using our cards for their loved ones.

Well, sent the cards and was just wishing maybe someone would at least send us a thank you by way of Twitter or email. Boy, did we get more than that. On Valentine's Day, a friend emailed me to say, "U are on the radio!" I was like what? So glad she heard it because I missed it. Take a listen. (Listen around the 12:30 mark) 710 ESPN Radio

Isn't that awesome? I was so excited and this made our Valentines night extra special. Thank you Steve Mason and ESPN!

Also, here are some the other cards I made to celebrate this wonderful day. Enjoy!

This "sweet hearts" card is a beauty. Love the colors.

Pink and black are always so pretty together.

I especially love this card on the right with the bold black bow.

Love making this envelop card. The chipboard pieces are Martha Stewart.

Here are more of the red envelop cards. So fun!

Well, that is it for now but hope you enjoyed seeing all these creations. Thanks for stopping by!

My Birthday Blog Party

Welcome to my Birthday Blog Party! I am starting my celebration early to fully enjoy my day. My actual birthday is May 29th but why not start early right? :) When I think of birthdays past, they were always such exciting times for me. Many of my birthdays were celebrated with fun parties from my childhood to my young adult years. I loved all of those special parties and to this day, I still love it. Maybe this is where my love for event planning all started. At my 3rd birthday, my parents gave me a big one. I don't really remember but the pictures are so cool. I had lots of kids there, a clown, a little merry-go-round ride and lots of games. I had a white little outfit on and was looking so cute for a Spring party. Boy, I looked so happy! Also, I was brave not to be afraid of the clown, too. My mom was holding me as I blew the candles out. Another year, I had my first slumber party. That was so fun! I invited several friends and ...

Vintage Layout

I wanted to share this layout with you all. I recently submitted a design team application and I had to make a layout. I haven't made a layout in years so it was a nice challenge. I enjoyed making the first one so much I wanted to try another one. This one is dedicated to my sweet grandmother, Thelma Cobbs. This was her college picture back in the 1930's. I just love this picture of her, the sepia tone color and the style is so classic.  Her style has influenced my artistic approach.  I loved all her lace handkerchiefs, hats, gloves, purses and jewel. So I have taken a lot of her traditional, glamours style and use it on my cards and now layouts.  I know she would be so proud to see her fashion sense in my work. Maybe it is my way of keeping her alive and close to me.  Love and miss you Nana! Supplies used are: Webster's Pages patterned paper, Scenic Route rub-on words, Prima flowers, leaves from Michael's, form adhesive on the lady images, cream ribbon and white...
