Mom's Birthday Card

Hey y'all. I hope you are having a great day today. My mom celebrated her birthday last Saturday. We had a great time at one of our favorite Chinese restaurants, Panda Inn. So delicious!

She is definitely one of my best cheerleaders and she loves my cards. In fact in her house, she has all the cards I have given her up so everyone can see them! That makes me smile! So I had to create an extra special one for her special day. After she opened and enjoyed it, this lady who works at the restaurant walked by and saw the card. She loved it and I did a little networking at dinner! So funny!

Take a look at our night and this lovely mommy card.

Used cream card stock, cream embossed paper, Prima trim w/ rhinestones, Webster's Pages journal card, hand cut flowers with rhinestone used from the trim.

I wish you could see it in person. So sparkling!

Also love this pearlized envelope that matches the card. Gorgeous!

Thanks for looking!

My Birthday Blog Party

Welcome to my Birthday Blog Party! I am starting my celebration early to fully enjoy my day. My actual birthday is May 29th but why not start early right? :) When I think of birthdays past, they were always such exciting times for me. Many of my birthdays were celebrated with fun parties from my childhood to my young adult years. I loved all of those special parties and to this day, I still love it. Maybe this is where my love for event planning all started. At my 3rd birthday, my parents gave me a big one. I don't really remember but the pictures are so cool. I had lots of kids there, a clown, a little merry-go-round ride and lots of games. I had a white little outfit on and was looking so cute for a Spring party. Boy, I looked so happy! Also, I was brave not to be afraid of the clown, too. My mom was holding me as I blew the candles out. Another year, I had my first slumber party. That was so fun! I invited several friends and ...

Vintage Layout

I wanted to share this layout with you all. I recently submitted a design team application and I had to make a layout. I haven't made a layout in years so it was a nice challenge. I enjoyed making the first one so much I wanted to try another one. This one is dedicated to my sweet grandmother, Thelma Cobbs. This was her college picture back in the 1930's. I just love this picture of her, the sepia tone color and the style is so classic.  Her style has influenced my artistic approach.  I loved all her lace handkerchiefs, hats, gloves, purses and jewel. So I have taken a lot of her traditional, glamours style and use it on my cards and now layouts.  I know she would be so proud to see her fashion sense in my work. Maybe it is my way of keeping her alive and close to me.  Love and miss you Nana! Supplies used are: Webster's Pages patterned paper, Scenic Route rub-on words, Prima flowers, leaves from Michael's, form adhesive on the lady images, cream ribbon and white...
