My New "Do"

Happy August! As this month has rolled in I have had a scrapbooking craze. I made several pages that I will be sharing here over the next several days.

This first one is about my new hair style. I wanted to do a series of pages on my hair. Deciding to wear my hair naturally curly was a big step and surprisingly emotional.  My hair is so thick and long so I was nervous how my hair would respond with no blow driers or other heat tools. But I watched several videos and I gave it a try. So get ready to see lots of pics of me smiling and happy. :)

I loved hand cutting the flowers from some patterned paper I had and also, using the colored paper clips.  The background paper looks like a corkboard and I want it to look like I pinned these pictures on the board.

This is my first day right before I washed my hair.

This was the first day with my new curly hair.

Loved putting my journaling in this little envelop.

I painted these letters and then added some glitter glue on top. Love it!

Hope you enjoyed and stop by later this week for more scrapbook pages.

  1. I love your hair but I never saw how much hair you have! I know a few ladies who would kill for your hair! Your page is wonderful-and love that treatment to the letters.

  2. Look at you! I agree with Cindy as I never really saw your hair, or maybe you had it tied up. Anyway, it's beautiful and your new do is so pretty! Love your pages and can't wait to see more!

Relaunch of Our Business

Kelly & Ron Roberts Today, Ron and I are announcing the relaunch of our K. Simone Designs business. For those of you that are new to our work and site, click   ABOUT US   for more information.   In short, we started our business selling my handmade greeting cards in 2011. We sold and donated lots of cards and enjoyed bringing smiles to our customer's faces. In 2019, we took a long break. Since then, art has become my main interest and I have been drawing, painting and improving my skills. Art has been a wonderful outlet and joy for me and I have loved encouraging others with these creations.  So now K. Simone Designs will focus on our Inspired Art business. Our greeting cards are on hold for now but they are still apart of our brand. Also, I will continue to create YouTube papercrafting videos and add more resources to my arts and crafts directory. Our goal with all these creative products is to inspire others with love, hope, joy and peace. Here are so...

My Birthday Blog Party

Welcome to my Birthday Blog Party! I am starting my celebration early to fully enjoy my day. My actual birthday is May 29th but why not start early right? :) When I think of birthdays past, they were always such exciting times for me. Many of my birthdays were celebrated with fun parties from my childhood to my young adult years. I loved all of those special parties and to this day, I still love it. Maybe this is where my love for event planning all started. At my 3rd birthday, my parents gave me a big one. I don't really remember but the pictures are so cool. I had lots of kids there, a clown, a little merry-go-round ride and lots of games. I had a white little outfit on and was looking so cute for a Spring party. Boy, I looked so happy! Also, I was brave not to be afraid of the clown, too. My mom was holding me as I blew the candles out. Another year, I had my first slumber party. That was so fun! I invited several friends and ...

Happy Hearts

Today I will be sharing one a several painting I recently finished. This one is one of my favorites. I wanted to try two faces and just love how they turned out. It was fun going crazy with the multi-colored background. The hearts were made using my new favorite thing to make from toilet paper rolls- STAMPS.  I saw them on Julie Balzer's blog. Toilet Paper Tube Stamps  Then I used my fingers to paint the inside of the hearts. So neat! Take a look and I hope you feel the love and joy in this piece. Aren't the afro's fabulous!!! LOL! They were my first try and look pretty darn good. The little girls afro puff is so cute and reminds me of the ones I had as a child.   I love the hearts on their clothes. I used my stencil to make the design then painted around just to show the insides. Hope you enjoyed and come back this week to see some other paintings. Have a good one!
