NEW, First Time Series: INSPIRED SHE




Today, I will be kicking off my first ever blog series called, "Inspired She."  It will feature inspirational stories to encourage us creative women to keep living our dreams. I am excited after months of thinking about this idea to finally be getting it going. Hooray!

Do you feel stuck or feel like you lost your mojo? I definitely feel like this at times. Finding inspiration helps to recharge my creative batteries and gives me a boost when I feel empty.

My wish is that these stories and words of hope will motivate and invigorate us during our productive moments and even our down times. (by the way, down times are ok and even good.)

Keep an eye out for the series.  Let's inspire each other.

P.S. I created this art in the logo a few years ago during one of my inspired times and thought she would be perfect for "Inspired She." :)

    I am really looking forward to this, Kelly. I will watch for your stories. I am not very artistic, but I have to craft something periodically to de-stress myself. Best wishes on starting this.

My Birthday Blog Party

Welcome to my Birthday Blog Party! I am starting my celebration early to fully enjoy my day. My actual birthday is May 29th but why not start early right? :) When I think of birthdays past, they were always such exciting times for me. Many of my birthdays were celebrated with fun parties from my childhood to my young adult years. I loved all of those special parties and to this day, I still love it. Maybe this is where my love for event planning all started. At my 3rd birthday, my parents gave me a big one. I don't really remember but the pictures are so cool. I had lots of kids there, a clown, a little merry-go-round ride and lots of games. I had a white little outfit on and was looking so cute for a Spring party. Boy, I looked so happy! Happy Hearts

Today I will be sharing one a several painting I recently finished. This one is one of my favorites. I wanted to try two faces and just love how they turned out. It was fun going crazy with the multi-colored background. The hearts were made using my new favorite thing to make from toilet paper rolls- STAMPS.  I saw them on Julie Balzer's blog. Toilet Paper Tube Stamps  Then I used my fingers to paint the inside of the hearts. So neat! Take a look and I hope you feel the love and joy in this piece. Aren't the afro's fabulous!!! LOL! They were my first try and look pretty darn good. The little girls afro puff is so cute and reminds me of the ones I had as a child.   I love the hearts on their clothes.
