NEW Art Video Series: "Story Time With..."

Hello everyone! Last week, I debuted my NEW YouTube art series called, "Story Time With..." This inspirational series will take a look at some of the art I made in the past. In each video, I will tell how I created them and their meaning. These personal stories are filled with faith, love, hope, joy and just life.

Around 2010, I began teaching myself to draw and eventually that lead me to art journaling and painting. It was a surprising interest for me and I have loved every minute of it. You can see some of my art in these virtual art shows HERE.

My first guest for "Story Time With..." was Elle Monae. She was my first canvas painting and I am so proud of her. This art combines all of my artistic passions of drawing, art journal techniques and painting.

Take a look at this video of Elle Monae HERE.

Each week, I will be sharing other art pieces, how I made them and their stories. Please subscribe to this blog and my YouTube Channel so you won't miss any of these uplifting stories.

Here is a sneak peak of this week's video featuring "Self Love." Oh, this is a good story and I don't want you to miss it.

I look forward to inspiring you with my interesting and personal stories. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

My Birthday Blog Party

Welcome to my Birthday Blog Party! I am starting my celebration early to fully enjoy my day. My actual birthday is May 29th but why not start early right? :) When I think of birthdays past, they were always such exciting times for me. Many of my birthdays were celebrated with fun parties from my childhood to my young adult years. I loved all of those special parties and to this day, I still love it. Maybe this is where my love for event planning all started. At my 3rd birthday, my parents gave me a big one. I don't really remember but the pictures are so cool. I had lots of kids there, a clown, a little merry-go-round ride and lots of games. I had a white little outfit on and was looking so cute for a Spring party. Boy, I looked so happy! Also, I was brave not to be afraid of the clown, too. My mom was holding me as I blew the candles out. Another year, I had my first slumber party. That was so fun! I invited several friends and ...

Vintage Layout

I wanted to share this layout with you all. I recently submitted a design team application and I had to make a layout. I haven't made a layout in years so it was a nice challenge. I enjoyed making the first one so much I wanted to try another one. This one is dedicated to my sweet grandmother, Thelma Cobbs. This was her college picture back in the 1930's. I just love this picture of her, the sepia tone color and the style is so classic.  Her style has influenced my artistic approach.  I loved all her lace handkerchiefs, hats, gloves, purses and jewel. So I have taken a lot of her traditional, glamours style and use it on my cards and now layouts.  I know she would be so proud to see her fashion sense in my work. Maybe it is my way of keeping her alive and close to me.  Love and miss you Nana! Supplies used are: Webster's Pages patterned paper, Scenic Route rub-on words, Prima flowers, leaves from Michael's, form adhesive on the lady images, cream ribbon and white...
