Christmas Projects- A Layout, Videos & Journal Page

Happy Holidays! I hope you and your family are having a peaceful and joyful holidays. I sure am! Before Christmas, I finished up several projects. I posted two new YouTube videos, a scrapbook layout and a few traveler's journal notebook pages.

Let me start with the scrapbook page. Every year, my husband and I love taking pictures in front of our city's Christmas tree. After I saw these pictures, I was inspired to make this layout with several trees. I hand cut the triangles into various sizes to resemble trees. I used Kaisercraft "peppermint Kisses" paper collection from Scrapbook.com.

So exciting to see this layout was featured on Scrapbook dot com's gallery section!!!

Next, I created two new YouTube videos. The first is another Julie Nutting tutorial using the "Jessi" and the "Phoebe" stamps in my traveler's notebook. So fun!

Learn how to make this page in the video tutorial.

Also, I shared an inspirational message about JOY! The holiday have been a challenge this year and I want to encourage others as well as myself to focus on the joy to combat the holiday blues. I hope you check this out.

Finally, here are a few pages from my traveler's notebook.

I hope you all enjoyed seeing some of my Christmas creations. I pray you continue to have a restful holiday season and an awesome New Year!

Be inspired!

Our Romantic Anniversary Dinner

Happy Thursday! I hope your week has been great.  Today I wanted  to share some of our wedding anniversary pictures with you.  Last Sunday, my hubby arranged for us to have a romantic dinner at the very place where we had our wedding reception.  I was so excited when I found out that they set up a table for us to have the whole banquet room to ourselves.  How great was that??? The restaurant is right on the bay and has the most spectacular  views.  So when we arrived they had a table set up for us right by the windows so we could get an even better view.  They had the rest of the room set up for an event but I still could remember how it looked the night of our wedding with the lights and the dance floor.  Plus the left side of the room is nothing but windows so you can see more of this secluded bay. So as we dined we watched the sunset and it was so fabulous.  Even at night all the lights from the surroundin...

Happy Hearts

Today I will be sharing one a several painting I recently finished. This one is one of my favorites. I wanted to try two faces and just love how they turned out. It was fun going crazy with the multi-colored background. The hearts were made using my new favorite thing to make from toilet paper rolls- STAMPS.  I saw them on Julie Balzer's blog. Toilet Paper Tube Stamps  Then I used my fingers to paint the inside of the hearts. So neat! Take a look and I hope you feel the love and joy in this piece. Aren't the afro's fabulous!!! LOL! They were my first try and look pretty darn good. The little girls afro puff is so cute and reminds me of the ones I had as a child.   I love the hearts on their clothes. I used my stencil to make the design then painted around just to show the insides. Hope you enjoyed and come back this week to see some other paintings. Have a good one!

Cupcakes Anyone?

Happy Fall! Last Summer I took a cupcake decorating class at Michael's and I loved it. It was really great to learn the basics. This was all new to me and I was excited to try it out.  All Summer I wanted to make more but the weather got too hot to bake so I had to wait. Finally we had a break with some cooler temps and I was able to get back to these yummy treats.   I made two of my favorite colors: happy sunny yellow and hot pink. Oh, and they tasted good too.        Have you tried cupcake or cake decorating before? Isn't it like art? Maybe that is why I love it. Now I can't wait to make some more. Thanks for stopping by!
