My Amazing Day At InvenTORI

Today was such an exciting day. I got to go to Tori and Dean's InvenTORI shop to deliver the last batch of cards. These "Thank You" cards from our "Autumn Wishes" Collection turned out so pretty. They were a lot of work but totally worth it.  Hope all the cards sell well!

But to our delighted surprise, when we arrived, there were camera crews and interviews taking place. Apparently, Tori was there doing some promotional interviews for their reality show, "Home Sweet Hollywood." At first, we were a little unsure of how to enter the shop because of all the lights, cameras and action! I didn't want to mess up the taping! But we got in there and were able to look around while all this was going on. We didn't get to see or meet Tori but it was fun to know she was there along with some other recognizable entertainment reporters.

I was able to meet the store staff that we had been doing business with over these few weeks. Oh, I felt like we were old friends. They were so warm and personable. And the shop... ADORABLE! The type of items they sell are wonderful and the store itself is very cozy and stylish. This store has two sides and a quaint courtyard in between. Can't wait to go back so I can see the full store. If you are in the So. California area it is definitely worth the visit. InvenTORI

So here is a look at our fun day.

Lovely staff!

Ron and I so proud of our card "babies."

Don't our cards look great there?

Also, Lisa Rinna's shop, "Belle Gray" was a few doors down. I went in there and they had some very amazing fashions. I loved the shoes and the purses. Fabulous! So this whole little area was filled with fun and unique shops. Great area to park, shop and enjoy!

Thanks for sharing my day! It was a blast!

My Birthday Blog Party

Welcome to my Birthday Blog Party! I am starting my celebration early to fully enjoy my day. My actual birthday is May 29th but why not start early right? :) When I think of birthdays past, they were always such exciting times for me. Many of my birthdays were celebrated with fun parties from my childhood to my young adult years. I loved all of those special parties and to this day, I still love it. Maybe this is where my love for event planning all started. At my 3rd birthday, my parents gave me a big one. I don't really remember but the pictures are so cool. I had lots of kids there, a clown, a little merry-go-round ride and lots of games. I had a white little outfit on and was looking so cute for a Spring party. Boy, I looked so happy! Also, I was brave not to be afraid of the clown, too. My mom was holding me as I blew the candles out. Another year, I had my first slumber party. That was so fun! I invited several friends and ...

Vintage Layout

I wanted to share this layout with you all. I recently submitted a design team application and I had to make a layout. I haven't made a layout in years so it was a nice challenge. I enjoyed making the first one so much I wanted to try another one. This one is dedicated to my sweet grandmother, Thelma Cobbs. This was her college picture back in the 1930's. I just love this picture of her, the sepia tone color and the style is so classic.  Her style has influenced my artistic approach.  I loved all her lace handkerchiefs, hats, gloves, purses and jewel. So I have taken a lot of her traditional, glamours style and use it on my cards and now layouts.  I know she would be so proud to see her fashion sense in my work. Maybe it is my way of keeping her alive and close to me.  Love and miss you Nana! Supplies used are: Webster's Pages patterned paper, Scenic Route rub-on words, Prima flowers, leaves from Michael's, form adhesive on the lady images, cream ribbon and white...
