Come Celebrate With Us- K. Simone Designs' 10th Birthday

K. Simone Designs Turns 10!!! April 20, 2011, my husband Ron and I launched our greeting card business. Since we started, we have sold over 300 cards and donated over 80 cards to charitable events.  After years of selling our cards, we have also added my art to our collection. This is an exciting newer venture that we are thrilled about, too. K. Simone Designs Art Shop HERE

Ron and I created this fun YouTube video to share some of our favorite cards, art and memorable stories from over the years. It was a joy reflecting on all the exciting moments and precious people who helped us.

In the video, I told about Gospel Music Artist Vickie Winans and how she encouraged us so much. Well, here is the blog post I wrote about the special mini album card I made for her in 2012. The thank you video she made has been lost but the sentiment of the moment is still special. Her Story HERE

Now for a look at more of my favorite cards and art from over these past 10 years.

My first blog post here on Inspired Me was about my cards!

2013, These cards were donated to Essence Magazine's "Black Women in Hollywood" award luncheon.

I made a batch of this card for Actress Tori Spellings' former shop, Inventori.

Oh, I love her.

We could not have lasted 10 years without the support of many others. Thank God for all these special people, So grateful!

Also, here are all of our online platforms. We hope you follow and subscribe to keep up with us. If you want to see more of my cards and art, check out the other pages I have here on Inspired Me.

Thanks for celebrating with us today and we hope you were inspired by our video and the stories we shared. Be inspired!

My Birthday Blog Party

Welcome to my Birthday Blog Party! I am starting my celebration early to fully enjoy my day. My actual birthday is May 29th but why not start early right? :) When I think of birthdays past, they were always such exciting times for me. Many of my birthdays were celebrated with fun parties from my childhood to my young adult years. I loved all of those special parties and to this day, I still love it. Maybe this is where my love for event planning all started. At my 3rd birthday, my parents gave me a big one. I don't really remember but the pictures are so cool. I had lots of kids there, a clown, a little merry-go-round ride and lots of games. I had a white little outfit on and was looking so cute for a Spring party. Boy, I looked so happy! Also, I was brave not to be afraid of the clown, too. My mom was holding me as I blew the candles out. Another year, I had my first slumber party. That was so fun! I invited several friends and ...

Vintage Layout

I wanted to share this layout with you all. I recently submitted a design team application and I had to make a layout. I haven't made a layout in years so it was a nice challenge. I enjoyed making the first one so much I wanted to try another one. This one is dedicated to my sweet grandmother, Thelma Cobbs. This was her college picture back in the 1930's. I just love this picture of her, the sepia tone color and the style is so classic.  Her style has influenced my artistic approach.  I loved all her lace handkerchiefs, hats, gloves, purses and jewel. So I have taken a lot of her traditional, glamours style and use it on my cards and now layouts.  I know she would be so proud to see her fashion sense in my work. Maybe it is my way of keeping her alive and close to me.  Love and miss you Nana! Supplies used are: Webster's Pages patterned paper, Scenic Route rub-on words, Prima flowers, leaves from Michael's, form adhesive on the lady images, cream ribbon and white...
