Home Deco Art

Over the last several months I have been adding some things to redecorate our apartment. It is nice now but just didn't feel like me, ya know? So I am making window valances and made some art. My new colors are sky blues, lemon yellows and pinks. I just love pink! LOL! In this post I will share some of the art I made on these large canvases. Take a look! I made a messy and fun background. Then painted blue to shape the vase. Love how bright and happy it turned out. I mostly used my fingers to make the flowers. This was so fun! I used tape to make the lines. Painted yellow over it and them pulled the tape off. Used my fingers again to make the flowers along with a brush. Used that tape again and my fingers for the flowers. I originally had one painting but didn't like. So I painted over it and created this.       Hope you enjoyed my art. It  makes me happy and can't wait to get all this redeco done after the...

Christmas Wreath part 3

Today's post is featuring my last Christmas wreath. This one was for my in-laws.  I just loved how it turned out and it was a joy delivering it to them. My mother-in-law said before I came she was expecting a green traditional wreath. So when I came in with this red and white, big and fluffy wreath she was happily surprised. They loved it and I hope it brings lots of Christmas joy to their home. Take a look! Yes, that's me and this baby is big. Maybe as large as a car tire. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my wreaths. I hope you enjoyed and if you are interested give it a try. Pretty easy and lots of fun. Take care!

Christmas Wreath part 2

Hello everyone! In my last post, I shared the wreaths I made for my home. After taking that class at Michael's I got introduced to decorative mesh ribbon. I got hooked on that stuff and had to make more wreaths. LOL! While I was in the class, I saw one that the teacher made. It was a beautiful, big and light weight wreath. This was a popular style and others were going to make it too. I just loved them and had to make that for my mom and mother-in-law. I went to Pinterest and YouTube to get some ideas and more instruction and that really helped. This was such an easy project and the mesh is so resilient too. So last Saturday was delivery day. The moms were all excited and we were thrilled to give them such a wonderful gift. Today's post is about the one I made for my mom. Here's how I did it and how it turned out. I started with this wire wreath that came with chenille ties already attached. I got mine at Michael's and the had a few different sizes a...

Christmas Wreaths part 1

Happy Holidays! In the spirit of the season, I have made some Christmas wreaths. I went to my local Michael's and took a free floral class where I learned how to put this wreath together. The instructor was very nice and talented. I had never noticed the "mesh" wreaths that are so popular and I ended up adding that material to mine. It really made it sparkle and shine. Love that mesh! LOL! I used a Styrofoam wreath, wrapped it with my ribbon, added the red and green mesh, and the flower. I loved this "R" initial. I painted it green and then added glitter paint to it. So with my extra I decorated another wreath I had to give it a little love. Next time, I will be sharing more mesh wreaths I am making for my mom and mother-in-law. So stay tuned!

Park Concerts 2015

Summer is almost over and I did a scrapbook layout about the park concerts we attended. Every year our little city host free concerts in the park. Last year was our first year going and we had so much fun. So this year, my goal was to go to all over them and we did. Here are a few pages I made celebration Summer music! I got the banner idea from a fellow Two Pea Refugee. Loved crumbling them up and distressing. I also was happy to use up more of my MME 6x6 paper that has been sitting around. The stars are silver and gold metallic. A nice touch! Now here is the other layout I did. Loved adding the little flyer about the concerts to the page. Isn't the grass darling? LOL! Thanks for stopping by!

Pink Lipstick Layout

Happy Friday! Hope you all are enjoying your day. Here is another layout I did with some of the same hand cut flowers and banners I used on the previous pages. Once I started cutting these flowers I got on a roll! LOL! This page is celebrating my hot pink lipstick that I totally forgot I had. I started wearing it this Summer and it's been a fun. Do you have a favorite Summer lipstick? Funny how make-up and hair dos can make us feel good. On this page, I used a warm woodgrain paper with those pretty gems, the floral paper, flowers and a little pink paper on the corners and for the banners. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by this week to see my three scrapbook pages and have a happy weekend!

Laugh Scrapbook Layout

Today, I am back with another scrapbook page. I just love this one. Doesn't it feel happy? :)   I had fun using the vintage script paper, that bright yellow stripped paper and the hand cut flowers and banners. I got these papers from Michael's and it was nice using parts of them on several pages.   Plus wrinkling the paper was a fun and mess touch. Take a look.     I also added some glitter glue to the green leaves. The journaling say, " Seeing all this curly hair makes me smile, giggle... ... and laugh. I love how my hair is free and doing it's own thang." Thanks for stopping by and I will share another soon. Take care all!

My New "Do"

Happy August! As this month has rolled in I have had a scrapbooking craze. I made several pages that I will be sharing here over the next several days. This first one is about my new hair style. I wanted to do a series of pages on my hair. Deciding to wear my hair naturally curly was a big step and surprisingly emotional.  My hair is so thick and long so I was nervous how my hair would respond with no blow driers or other heat tools. But I watched several videos and I gave it a try. So get ready to see lots of pics of me smiling and happy. :) I loved hand cutting the flowers from some patterned paper I had and also, using the colored paper clips.  The background paper looks like a corkboard and I want it to look like I pinned these pictures on the board. This is my first day right before I washed my hair. This was the first day with my new curly hair. Loved putting my journaling in this little envelop. I painted these letters and then a...

Art & Tote Bag

Happy August! I recently wanted to try my art and painting on t-shirts and tote bags. I had an idea for a tote bag featuring my mom's art. Yes, she is an artist and so good at it. I knew she would be so excited to see her art on something different like this and boy was she excited!!!! How did I do this you asked? I used iron-on transfer paper I got from Michael's. I love this stuff and it is so easy to use on fabric. All you do is print your image on the paper and iron-on. That's it! Then, I added some flowers, jewels and some burgundy tulle. Take a look. I loved using this black puffy paint to write the words. Hope you enjoyed seeing this fun idea and I can't wait to make more bags and t-shirts. Have a nice day!

Another Chipboard Mini 4 MIL

Hey all! Today I am up with another chipboard mini album I did as a gift for my mother-in-law. I got it from Michael's and I just love the delicate doily that came with it. I painted it all white and then orange, yellow or pink on certain pages. This really gave it a soft look. Also, this was special because my husband wrote the sentiments and I did the deco. So happy to have him contribute. Thanks Honey! :) She loved it and I loved making it for her. She is such a sweet lady. Take a look at some of the pages! I love the tulle and the crystal bling mixed with the flowers.   Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
